Analysis of College Magazine Questionnaire

We created a questionnaire in class for our intended target audience of the college magazine and straight away we found out that 95% of the students who filled out our questionnaire do not read a college magazine. This means that we needed to find out what would encourage students to start reading a college magazine. We asked students what they would like to see in a college magazine and the majority of them suggested things such as news/events, information about college, sport, Xbox, fashion and jobs. This told us that these things need to be included in the magazine if we want students to start reading it. We then asked how much would students pay for a college magazine and 70% said they would pay 50p. This tells us how much we need to aim to sell our magazine for. The majority of students said they would be encouraged to read the magazine if it was bright and colourful and contained freebies. This also tells us that this is something we need to include in order to reach the target audiences needs. We also asked if students would like subject information, articles and other general information within the magazine in which the majority of students responded yes. This again tells us what we need to include in our magazine in order to fulfil our target audiences needs. We asked students if they would subscribe to a college magazine in which 80% said they wouldn’t which shows that this is something we wouldn’t need to include when designing the magazine as it wouldn’t be very popular. We also asked the students when they would like a magazine to be produced and we got a variety of answers back but the most predominant response was monthly, so this is how often our magazine needs to be produced. The final question we asked was would students like to see a ‘what’s on’ guide in which 85% said yes so we would need to include this too.
